THE number of kids charged with murder and manslaughter has soared by 13 per cent in less than a year, The Sun can reveal.
The shock surge in prosecutions of youths comes as the country finds itself in the grip of a knife-crime epidemic.

In 2017 a total of 71 youngsters aged 17 or under faced court for homicide offences in England and Wales.
But by September last year – the latest period for which figures are available – that total rose to 80.
Yet the true 2018 total is likely to be far higher, because the data does not include any prosecutions brought in October, November and December.
If homicide prosecutions for under-17s continued at the average 2018 rate, last year’s final figure would be 107 – a rise of 50 per cent.
Crown Prosecution Service data, released after a freedom of information request, also revealed where the largest number of homicide prosecutions of kids were being brought.
A total of 31 took place in North London, up from 26 in 2017 – a rise of 19 per cent.
In Thames and Chiltern, prosecutions soared from two in 2017 to ten last year, up by 400 per cent.
And in the West Midlands, homicide prosecutions for under-17s went trebled from three in 2017 to nine in 2018.

The figures emerged a week after Theresa May warned the surge in violent crime could not be solved by giving cops more powers.
The PM told a youth violence summit at Downing Street last week a “great cooperated long-term effort” was needed.
She added: “We cannot simply arrest ourselves out of this problem.” The summit came after the Home Office unveiled plans for teachers and NHS workers to help tackle youth crime.
