"Many Photos" - Farmer accidentally killed his three-year-old son by reversing over him in a Land Rover

A FARMER accidentally killed his three-year-old son by reversing over him in a Land Rover, an inquest heard.

Dewi Williams was backing up a double-decker 40-sheep trailer when son Evan opened a rear door and fell out.

The boy was crushed under the rear wheel of the vehicle.

He was left with “catastrophic and unsurvivable” injuries.

The accident was witnessed by Evan’s older sister, who was also on the back seat, and their mother Sian, guiding Dewi while standing at the nearside of the car.

Dewi sobbed as the events in Llanybydder, Carmarthenshire, were described at the hearing in Milford Haven.

The terrible accident occurred last October.

Coroner Mark Layton said: “Evan’s death at such a young age is such a terrible tragedy, the family has my heartfelt sympathy.”

A jury returned a verdict of accidental death.
