A PERFECTLY preserved Argos catalogue from 1993 has been posted online and readers went wild with a trip down memory lane.
Reddit reader ‘FasterLemmyFaster’ wrote: “Found this absolute goldmine in the loft! A perfectly preserved 1993 Argos catalogue! Any requests?”
The post certainly struck a nerve with many followers as it picked up 745 comments in just a few hours.
Many were just happy to think back to their childhood days and the toys they played with.
One wrote: “The Tyco Rebound! I miss the days when that was all the entertainment I needed.”
‘The Atrum’ said: “This 100% and any WWF toys would be amazing to see, just toys in general!”
Another reminisced: “Used to circle what I wanted for Christmas in these bad boys.”
Things moved on to old-style, huge TVs, before the invention of the flat-screen versions.
‘AlphaAndOmega joked: “Weighing 3 tonnes with an 8 inch thick glass screen which could double as a ballistic shield.”
‘Bezdancing’ joined in with: “I love the old wood panelled tellys with the dial or big chunky push switches for swapping channels, they take me back to my childhood.”
The hi-tech gadgets of the day also got a mention as commentators remembered the delights of a CD changer.
‘SaC’ posted: “Is that a three-CD changer hi-fi I spot there? My brother got one for his 17th birthday in ’94. Looked like that one, but without a record player on the top.
“Edit: Damn, it’s a five CD version. The high life.”

‘Spambop wrote: “I had one of those! With a massive cabinet for no discernible reason, tape deck, massive speakers and settings you could alternate between things like ‘jazz’ and ‘concert hall’.”
Also coming up for discussion were the video games of the day, with the Mega Drive being a popular choice.
‘Dafman’ was quite tempted with the price tag, in those days, of £169.99.
