"Many Photos" - Sarri on brink of sack and ‘done’ at Chelsea while his tactics are ‘broken’, blasts Chris Sutton

CHRIS Sutton has launched a scathing attack on under-fire Maurizio Sarri and claimed the Italian is finished at Chelsea.

The Blues exited the FA Cup with a whimper on Monday night and the boos at the final whistle followed another disastrous chapter in the poor form experienced at Stamford Bridge since the turn of the year.

A run of just one win in four league games and conceding a combined 12 goals against Manchester City, Arsenal and Bournemouth has made Sarri the bookies’ favourite to become the next Premier League manager to be given the boot.

And Sutton expects that to happen any moment now.

The former Chelsea striker told Radio 5 Live: “This is Maurizio Sarri’s last game at Chelsea. The Italian job is over for them.

“He’s done. Sarri-ball is broken.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich has earned a reputation for hiring and firing managers even after only a few weeks of bad form.

Andre Villas-Boas, Roberto Di Matteo and Jose Mourinho were all sacked once Champions League qualification looked to be slipping away, a factor Sutton believes to be key to Sarri’s future.

The ex-Blackburn and Celtic striker continued: “Is [Abramovich] going to chuck all his eggs in the Europa League basket with a manager who can’t motivate his players? No.

“History tells us the Chelsea owner doesn’t mess about.”

Next up for Sarri’s side is the second leg of their Europa League meeting with Malmo on Thursday, with a 2-1 lead from last week’s game in Sweden.

Chelsea then face Manchester City in the League Cup final on Sunday before hosting Tottenham Hotspur in a key London derby.
