"Many Photos" - £148m Lottery winner Adrian Bayford adds flock of sheep to farm estate

Lottery winner Adrian Bayford has expanded his farm by adding a flock of sheep to his estate.

The 48-year-old former postman, who scooped the £148million EuroMillions jackpot in 2012, reinvented himself as a farmer by buying a herd of Highland Cattle last year.

Now he also has more than 100 sheep grazing in fields in front of his £6.5million eight-bedroom mansion in Cambridgeshire.

Before his big lottery win Bayford worked as a postman and later ran Black Barn Records stores in Cambridge and Haverhill in Suffolk.

But he closed the record shops at the end of last year and now seems to be concentrating on farming instead.

The sheep are helping to keep the grass tidy in three fields on Bayford’s 189-acre estate, Horseheath Lodge, in Linton. The estate also has a farmyard and extensive stables.

He bought the Highland cattle last January and uses a golf buggy to make regular visits to the herd.

Last November it was announced that Bayford was selling his magnificent Georgian mansion and country estate to move to Australia because his jackpot win left him miserable.  

Father-of-two Mr Bayford's and his wife-of-nine-years Gillian divorced in 2013 - 15 months after winning the jackpot - and he has reportedly suffered heartbreak three times since. 

Gillian returned to Scotland with their two children while Adrian moved to Cambridge and embarked on his relationships. 

His stable girl fiancee Samantha Burbidge, 31, left him in January two years ago, according to reports. 

Then former sausage factory worker Marta Jarosz was said to have been gifted a £34,000 top-of-the-range Volvo before breaking up with him.

He was then dumped by his new love, former Frankie & Benny's waitress Lisa Kemp, 40, it was claimed.

Mr Bayford was said to have lavished his lovers with expensive perfumes, designer riding gear, clothes, shoes and engagement rings. 

Mr Bayford, a big rock music fan, started his second-hand music career by selling old CDs on a market stall more than 20 years ago before opening the Suffolk Music Centre in Haverhill town centre, selling music and memorabilia.

He was on his way to work when he bought the winning ticket from a nearby newsagents in August, 2012.

But the newly-made millionaire later closed his shop after reportedly becoming fed up with abuse from people coming in and demanding money from him. 

Mr Bayford has also reportedly fallen out with friends - including the director of Cambridge Rock festival which he hosted on his lawn in 2017 - and is said to feel hassled by residents of the 38 properties he owns because they feel as a wealthy landlord he should pay for everything.

Adrian bought a local village pub The Rose and Crown for £375,000 but has reportedly fallen out with bar staff and now barely sets foot in it. 

It was previously reported the lottery winner eats up to 50 Cornish pasties a week and has been taunted by locals.
