THE fashion world is mourning the death of designer Karl Lagerfeld, who has died aged 85.

What was Karl Lagerfeld’s cause of death?

Closer magazine in France reports that Lagerfeld died at the American Hospital of Paris in Neuilly-sur-Seine.

He had been admitted the day before with an unspecified illness.

His health had reportedly been causing concern for weeks.

In January he missed two of Chanel’s haute couture shows in Paris – the first time in his career he failed to appear in person on the catwalk at the end.

Reports at the time said he was “tired”.

Lagerfeld, born in Hamburg in 1933, is a fashion icon who was credited with reviving Chanel’s fortunes in the 1980s.
