MANCHESTER City have been warned by Uefa President Aleksander Ceferin he will not be scared of booting them out of the Champions League.

SunSport reported yesterday that questions are being raised over whether Uefa chiefs are turning away from taking action against City and Paris Saint-Germain over their alleged Financial Fair Play breaches.

City were accused in the Football Leaks data release last year of hiding millions of funding from the club’s Abu Dhabi owners by pretending it was legitimate sponsorship income.

Ceferin announced in Dublin two months ago that he anticipate there would “very soon” be action on the “concrete case”.

City have been boosted by the lack of movement from Uefa’s Club Financial Control Body, headed by former Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme.

But ahead of today’s re-election as the head of European football, Ceferin insisted: “When it comes to FFP, everyone is treated the same way.

“I have no problem throwing out anyone. I am under no pressure.

“No case is symbolic or special.

“ And if anyone thinks that FFP is against PSG or anyone else, I do not mind that he thinks that.

“The club must abide by the rules, like everyone else.”

Ceferin, who was adamant that he will not allow the creation of a European Super League, promised that he would not intervene in any FFP verdicts.

He added: “The financial regulator can seal a settlement agreement with a club.

“But neither me, nor the secretary general, nor anyone from the administration can intervene in these agreements. The control body is independent and makes its own decision.”
