New photo Youth wields terrifying machete as he sprints along residential street in mid-afternoon

A machete-wielding thug threatened people on a quiet residential street in the latest outbreak of lawlessness in Wild West Britain. 

The footage was captured by a terrified resident in Huddersfield after they saw the young man chasing someone in a suburb about two miles from the town centre. 

A resident filmed the incident in an area which has been blighted by drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.

Armed police were called to the scene and a 16-year-old boy was arrested. 

Postman Andrew Green, who works in the area, told the Huddersfield Examiner: 'It has been going on for a couple of years. They have been smoking weed and trying to intimidate me. I am not putting up with it any more.

'I have been woken up at 3am and 4am by the noise from scooters being ridden around. Let's hope the police and the courts use the full force of the law.'  

Residents in Huddersfield have reported a string of violent incidents in recent weeks

At the time of the machete incident, West Yorkshire Police confirmed that they were called at about 2.06pm to a report that men had been seen in the street carrying 'bladed weapons'.

Today West Yorkshire Police confirmed that their investigation into the incident remained ongoing and that no one had been charged.

The incident involving the machete follows a spate of violence involving various weapons across Huddersfield.

In August a resident reported seeing young men fighting with weapons and in February rival gangs clashed inside the Kingsgate shopping centre. Two of those present were carrying weapons.

In October knife violence in the town centre left three youths wounded. The town has also been hit by a series of attacks involving firearms.
