THE trash talk is done – Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov face off at UFC 229 tonight.
It will be McGregor’s first UFC fight since 2016 following his mega bucks boxing cameo against Floyd Mayweather last year. His opponent Khabib – who is defending his UFC lightweight title – is yet to taste defeat, however…

Fight prediction
Wally Downes, SunSport Boxing Correspondent
A points or late Khabib win looks the most likely outcome but that would mean Las Vegas and the UFC get their golden goose knocked off his perch.
Draws are hugely rare in the UFC and would usually need a point deduction or a 10-8 round.
But, as we have seen in boxing recently, strange things can happen when the biggest roller is in Sin City and a rematch can line plenty more pockets for everyone involved.

What have they said?
Khabib [on how he sees the fight going]: “Maybe. Maybe decision. Maybe I’m gonna finish him. But all the time when he’s tired, he gives up. This is all the time. Like before fights, he talks like ‘I’m ready for this, I’m ready for this,’ when he fight with Diaz, when he fight with Mayweather. But when he’s tired he gives up all the time.”
McGregor: “He may have wrestled Dagestani bears but he has never wrestled a Irish gorilla and that’s what he’s about to face on Saturday night.
“I believe he’s slow, he’s flat footed, his striking is very average and I look to expose that.
