New photo Chaos as protesters in the Senate gallery interrupt final Kavanaugh vote

Protesters brought chaos into the Senate gallery in a last effort to shake Republican senators voting to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Despite the uproarious screams of 'shame!' resonating in the gallery Saturday afternoon, Kavanaugh has been confirmed and will now sit on the Supreme Court of the United States.

Two women who said they are survivors of sexual assault burst out after Joe Manchin voted yes and another yelled as Jeff Flake gave his vote, bringing the roll to a pause multiple times while President Mike Pence attempted to call order.

Kavanaugh's confirmation puts an end to a bitter battle that has divided both the Senate and nation along partisan lines.

'Shame on you. How dare you prioritize him over us,' the two female protesters yelled at Manchin.

Many of the senators ignored the outbursts, however Manchin glanced up to look the women in the eyes.

Other protesters repeated 'I do not consent!' while one man yelled 'you're a coward, Flake!' right before Arizona Senator Jeff Flake voted yes.

Vice President Mike Pence repeatedly called order, saying:  'The sergeant-at-arms will restore order in the gallery'.

But when Pence's gavel fell, it was a 50-48 tally with one Republican sitting on the sidelines as a favor to a friend attending his daughter's wedding.

President Trump took to Twitter moments after the final vote to congratulate his nominee.

'I applaud and congratulate the U.S. Senate for confirming our GREAT NOMINEE, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, to the United States Supreme Court. Later today, I will sign his Commission of Appointment, and he will be officially sworn in. Very exciting!' the President wrote.

Defeated Democratic Senators have vowed to keep 'fighting' after the final vote was reached.

California Senator Kamala Harries tweeted: 'We can't stop fighting. Progress doesn't happen overnight. It can be painful. It can be slow. But now is the time to roll up our sleeves, knock on doors, and register people to vote. In one month we have the chance to vote and stand up for the country we love.'
