New photo Shannon Noll, 43, returns to social media after he was arrested for drug possession

Singer Shannon Noll has re-emerged on social media after he was allegedly caught at a pub with a bag of white powder.

The What About Me Singer shared a post-gym photo to Instagram on Friday, following the possession charge on September 13. 

The 43-year-old wore a black singlet and red cap in the picture, showing off his biceps.

He captioned the image: 'Great week of training in the gym this week. Looking forward to my upcoming shows!'

On Thursday he posted a photo back in the studio working on some new material with musician and producer Michael Tan.

Before yesterday's social media post the Australian Idol runner up had not posted on his account for seven days.

Shannon was arrested on September 13 in Caringbah, in Sydney's south, after a dog squad search.

The singer was arrested for possessing a prohibited drug and will appear in court on October 11.

The country music star has been embroiled in controversy after directing a foul-mouthed tirade at a fan who threw a beer can at his head.

Shannon was performing at Duck Creek Picnic Races in central New South Wales on July 7 when he became aggressive with the fan.

He said: 'That f**khead in the tie... Come on pretty boy, you're a f**kig maggot. Have some f**king balls and come up here instead of throwing something from there!

'Cheap shot pr**k... Shame that pr**k! Shame that motherf**ker right there. F**khead private school stupid f**k head motherf**ker!' 

Shannon apologised for his behaviour the next day, posting on social media: 'I completely understand that that is still no excuse for the way I spoke and I am deeply sorry for the terrible things I said that were purely out of frustration.'
