Sunny Leone has made it to the BBC's 100 most influential women. They are once again a mixture of high-profile and influential women including entrepreneurs, engineers, sportswomen, business women, fashion icons and artistes.

Sunny, who is celebrating her fifth year anniversary in Bollywood, started in Indian showbiz by participating in the controversial reality TV show 'Bigg Boss' in 2011.

She went on to star in Bollywood films like 'Jism 2', 'Jackpot' and 'Ek Paheli Leela'. Apart from the actress, the list also includes four Indian names - Gouri Chindarkar (Sangli), Mallika Srinivasan (Chennai), Neha Singh (Mumbai) and Saalumarada Thimmakka (Karnataka), read a statement.

Chindarkar is a 20-year-old computer engineering student from Sangli, Maharashtra. She is one of the first children in India to experience a unique learning experience now known as 'School in the Cloud'.

Srinivasan, 57, is the CEO of Tractors and Farm Equipment Ltd. She is known as the 'Tractor Queen' of India and has grown her family company into the third largest tractor manufacturer in the world.

Thimmakka is a 105-year-old environmentalist from Karnataka who has planted more than 8,000 trees in 80 years, a project which first started in response to social ridicule at not being able to have children. She is the oldest woman on the BBC 100 women list.

Some of this year's high profile women include singer-songwriter Alicia Keys; US gold medal winning gymnast Simone Biles and French politician Rachida Dati. The BBC's 100 Women season kicked off on Monday.

Bollywood actress Sunny Leone believes that though the media and people will not stop gossiping about her, her new mobile app will help spread authentic information and facilitate direct interaction with her fans.

"I think media will gossip about me anyway, but through this app, what I can do is filter information before going out in the public domain, so they are authentic," Sunny told.

Starting her Bollywood journey with the film 'Jism 2', within five years, the actressensured her visibility in the film industry and acted in films like 'Jackpot', 'Ragini MMS 2', 'Ek Paheli Leela', 'Kuch Kuch Locha Hai' and 'One Night Stand', to name a few. She also authored an e-book named 'Sweet Dreams'.

Being the first ever Indian celebrity to have a mobile app and entering the e-commerce industry, when asked if she wishes to author another book, Sunny said: "Honestly, I haven't thought much about it, I might just do that in future. I have so much to achieve. Right now, I am content and happy with the fact that I am able to do what I wanted to do. Since I am busy shooting a film called 'Tera Intezaar' directed by Raajeev Walia opposite Arbaaz Khan, I am quite consumed in that."

Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, who launched her own mobile app on Wednesday, said she would be interested in watching actors Sonam Kapoorand Ranveer Singh on social media and mobile app.

Asked about which actressshould have a mobile app like the one she is launching, Sunny said: "I think Sonam Kapoor would be interesting to watch as she keeps travelling to different countries and exploring. However, I follow all the Bollywood stars on social media."

Salman continued to be the 'Bigg Boss' landing the top spot for the most searched male celebrity of 2016. The second most searched male celeb was not another Khan but stand-up comedian and TV personality Kapil Sharma who is followed by Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

The buzz around Bipasha Basu's wedding to Karan Singh Grover ensured her position as the second most-searched female celebrity while Deepika Padukonetook the third slot, followed by Katrina Kaif at No. 4.

Every year, Yahoo! India releases its 'Year in Review' list, which reveals the people, events and stories that captured the attention of Indians in the last 12 months.

Last night's episode saw, Bollywood star Sunny Leonemaking a special appearance on Bigg Boss 10. The actress came to conduct a special nomination task wherein the contestants were required to make viral videos and Sunny had to judge it. However, looks like she wasn't prepared for an awkward moment that was coming her way.

After the nomination task when Sunny was doing a fun activity based on the iconic film Sholay, Manu Punjabi , who was playing Veeru got carried away during the act and called Sunny Leone his 'Maal'. Bani , who was watching the task with the rest of the housemates objected to it saying stop calling her maal. However, Manu shamelessly continued and in fact fought with Bani. He told her to be quiet and if Sunny has a problem she will herself tell him. Though Sunny looked upset, but preferred to not respond. This was not all, the female contestants of the show Bani,Lopa and Nitibha were also seen lambasting Om Swami for touching Sunny appropriately. They also warned him to beware in the future.

Remember how Sunny Leone had stated in an interview that Aamir Khan will probably never want to work with her? Close on the heels of that interview, Aamir took the first step in forming a friendship with the 'Mastizaade' actress. The actor even invited her to the Diwalibash that he hosted this year.

Now, in what can be termed as a sweet gesture of friendship, Aamir has lent his acting coach, Prakash Bharadwaj to the actress. Confirming the news to a daily, Sunny revealed how she has been working everyday with Aamir's coach in a bid to hone her acting skills.

For the uninitiated, Bharadwaj has been closely associated with Mr. Perfectionist since 'Rang De Basanti' and is partly responsible for his close-to-perfect Haryanvi dialect in his upcoming film, 'Dangal'. He has also trained Katrina Kaif and Preity Zinta among others. Bharadwaj revealed that he has been working with Sunny on her Hindi-speaking skills.

NEW DELHI: Actresses Sunny Leone and Taapsee Pannu star in digital media channel Aur Dikhao's new breast cancer awareness videos, which say breast cancer cases would reduce to half if only women paid as much attention to their breasts as men do.

"Don't be embarrassed, don't be shy. A two minute test at home can save your life," Leone explains at the end of her short film, which begins with clips of men from different walks of life trying to converse with women, and struggling to prevent their gazes from sliding downwards.

"Sixty percent of breast cancer cases in India are diagnosed at stage three and four. Self-examination at home means early detection. It takes two minutes," she says.

"We women need to be aware of our body and know that detection is better than cure," Taapsee Pannu said in a statement. "Two minutes self test is all you need to do! When the team approached me with this concept, I was absolutely up for it because I want women and men to be aware that breast cancer is curable if detected at an early stage," she added.

The videos in which Sunny Leone and Taapsee Pannu appear are part of an larger series - with the hashtag #DetectToDefeat - about the importance of detecting breast cancer early.

The other short films in the series - some of which which have different storylines but the same basic message - star anchor Shibani Dandekar, actresses Priya Bapatand Divyanka Tripathi, singer Sunidhi Chauhan, politician Shaina NC and many other celebrities.

She has won hearts with her acting stint in Bollywood and now actress Sunny Leone has taken up a new role in her career, by turning a writer. Leone has written a book titled 'Sweet Dreams', which includes 12 short stories. The 'Mastizaade' actress says writing was not on her mind but she did have certain ideas, which went unrecorded.

"Writing wasn't on my mind. I thought about different stories and ideas throughout the years but nothing really that I wrote down. This is the first time I have written something like this. When I was younger I had a diary, my mother read it, and that was the end of the diary," Leone told PTI in an exclusive interview. Set in an Indian milieu, her fictional stories of power and play treat women as sexual equals to men while also talking about the underlying romance.

The 34-year-old actress says when the publishing house, Juggernaut books, came to her with the idea of writing 12 short erotic stories, she took it up as a challenge and finished them in a span of three months. "Juggernaut came to me and proposed the idea of 12 short stories in this genre. It was a personal challenge for me to able to do it. I took about three months to write those. The story, '7 E', was the most difficult because that was the first one," she said.

"So it took me time to figure out the writing style... Sometimes we had to get straight to the point because it is a short story. That was challenging because you don't want to move forward so abruptly that a reader loses track," Leone added. The 'Jism 2' star says the stories in 'Sweet Dreams', currently available exclusively on the Juggernaut app, are fictional and have "nothing that is derived from" her life.

Even though the stories talk about seduction, Leone ensured that she does not cross any line which would make the readers, specially women, feel uncomfortable. "I wrote these stories, from what I thought a woman would like to read. For me it was important when someone is reading it, specially women, they should not cringe or say 'it is too much for me to handle'. I wanted it to be in the slightly romantic zone." The stories will be released every night at 10 PM till May 3 and the 'Ragini MMS 2' actress feels nervous as the journey has been 'personal'. "Now that it is going to release, I am very nervous." Besides the fact that it is a great avenue to reach out to fans, it was a challenge to see if I can do it, because you have movies and songs coming one after another, but this was personal. I hope they enjoy it.

With 4 million followers on Instagram, Sunny leone has a veritable fan following online. To add to this, Sunny is using a service called Voxie to spread her reach wide on social media. The selfie theme is titled on her famous Baby Doll songs and is called "all selfies pittal di but voxie sone di". After Amitabh Bacchan and Priyanka chopra, Sunnly is the next celeb who is signing up to the speaking selfie service.

The actress has already crossed 10,000 likes and comments in one hour. She posted a speaking-selfie, calling it a voxie - on her Facebook & twitter page as well to promote her curves. Upon tapping the photo, Sunny leone speaks in full seductive fervor "My my voxie has my feelings.. you know I'm ahead of the curves.. hahaha" gets played .

Actress Sunny Leone, a vegetarian, says her doctor has told her to stay away from alcohol, dairy products and spicy food.

"(I am) not well and my blood needs to be purified from infection and there is too much heat in my body," Sunny, 35, posted on Twitter. "So I'm drinking special bad tasting tea."

"Sad morning! My traditional Chinese medicine doctor has told me - no caffeine, no alcohol, no dairy, no meat (I'm veg so that's fine) and no spicy food.

"I believe in traditional Chinese medicine and I guess its God's way of telling me I'm turning into a vegan, no alcohol... Caffeine... No toxins," she added.

Sunny was last seen in the film "Beiimaan Love", directed by Rajeev Chaudhari. The film also featured Rajniesh Duggall.

The porn ban in India might have been lifted partially, but that doesn’t mean that pornography cannot be re-banned in our country. After the government met with severe criticism, they have lifted the ban partially on websites, barring the ones that show child pornography.

But before that news was made official, Bollywood’s sexy siren Sunny Leone had made a subtle remark via her tweets and that was just too apt. She posted a picture with her hubby Daniel Weber, where he wore a sando with “Sex sells” written over it.

The two own a production house that produces adult films. Sunny’s ex-career as a porn star is over and her Bollywood career is in flight mode. She doesn’t talk publicly about her previous career field but certainly has an subtle yet apt response for the porn ban in India!

Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, who launched her own mobile app here on Wednesday, said she would be interested to watch actors Sonam Kapoor and Ranveer Singh on social media and mobile app.

Asked about which actress should have a mobile app like the one she is launching, Sunny said: "I think Sonam Kapoor would be interesting to watch as she keeps travelling to different countries and exploring. However, I follow all the Bollywood stars on social media."

"When it comes to actors, I think Ranveer Singh is very interesting, he is crazy, he is fun! He has a good sense of fashion and, at times, he wears whacky outfits too! So that's gonna be entertaining," she added.

The actress who launched her new mobile app in collaboration with New York-based start-up escapex said the app is one-stop shop for all her fans who can directly interact with her and meet her. It will open the door for her worldwide fans to her social media handles -- be it Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or YouTube.

Sunny is the first ever-Indian celebrity to have such an app -- escapex has produced white label apps for artists like Bob Marley, Wyclef Jean and 35 other celebrities.

Emphasising on the impact of social media on an actors life, Sunny said: "As our shelf life is small, unlike Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, social media is one of the best ways to build up fan followers and one can write one's own destiny."

Asked if there were any specifications given while collaborating with the company, she said: "Yes, I will control all the information that will go out to my fans and there should not be any room for internal ranting!"
