DAVID HAYE has suggested a heavyweight round robin tournament that would see Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder all square off.

Although near impossible the idea is a boxing fans dream, offering a true answer to who is the top dog in the sports golden division.

Unified champ AJ, 29, has seen his offers to Wilder, 33, and Fury, 30, both snubbed in the past, as the aforementioned ended up facing each other in a heavyweight thriller last December that ended in a draw.

Speaking to talkSPORT, former heavyweight champion Haye, 38, suggested the three giants square off in a round robin to decide the No1 in the division.

Haye said: “If that (Joshua vs Wilder) got made, I’d be very, very happy.

“But whoever did win that fight, you would then say, ‘Well, you’ve gotta fight Fury now.’

“I don’t mind, I’d like these guys to do a round-robin. Say Fury had got that decision [against Wilder], does that make Wilder any worse?

“The fight was still a close fight, just because the judges said it was a draw or said it was one way or the other, that doesn’t mean the person who loses, his career is over.

“I think boxing has a real issue with losses. I lost my eleventh fight, but two years later I was number one in the world.

“In no other sport are the ramifications for one loss so great as in boxing.”

The retired fighter, who also resigned as cruiserweight world champion drew parallels to 1v1 sports such as tennis – where the best face the best – something boxing fans have been deprived of.

Haye added: “A 50/50 fight means it could go one way or the other. To be in 80/20 fights all the time is all good and well, but we wanna see someone give you a fight.

“It’s like Federer, Nadal and Djokovic not playing each other or playing someone who’s ranked number 150.

“Why don’t the top five all play each other and see how it goes?
