THE Boat Race is almost here as Oxford and Cambridge lock horns once again.
The light blues of Cambridge were victorious in last year’s race as they stretched their lead in the all-time stakes to 83-80.
But who is the favourite to triumph this year?
What are the Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race odds?
Cambridge are favourites to retain their title at this year’s Boat Race.
The light blue boat were comprehensive winners last year and have beefed up their crew with one of rowing’s all-time greats this time around.
Double Olympic gold medalist James Cracknell will be rowing for Cambridge at the age of 42, having become eligible by enrolling at the university to study a Masters in Philosophy.

Boats have sunk on numerous occasions before, starting with 1912 with both boats sank in stormy weather.
In 1951, the Oxford boat sank while in 1978 it was the turn of Cambridge.
In 1984, Cambridge suffered one of the race’s most farcical sinkings when their boat collided with a tug and split in half.
That was the last recorded sinking in the men’s race, but in 2016 the Cambridge women completed the race even though their boat had begun to sink.
