WERDER BREMEN have admitted they flew a drone over Hoffenheim’s training ground in order to spy on them.
Last Tuesday Hoffenheim reported an “unannounced drone flight” to police, just a day before they travelled to Bremen.
Hoffenheim told ESPN: “Whoever is responsible for it, over a third-party property or training ground, even more so in darkness, [means that] most of all it is a big security concern and exceeds by far the limit of covertly watching behind a fence.”
Bremen drew 1-1 with Hoffenheim at home a day after the drone scouting.
However, Bremen have sensationally admitted they were behind the drone as they admitted it was for analysis usage.
Bremen said in a statement: “Werder Bremen briefly brought a drone into action last Tuesday during TSG Hoffenheim’s training.

“This is the result of a conversation between Werder CEO Baumann, head coach [Florian] Kohfeldt and employees of the analysis department.
“If those events at Hoffenheim led to a certain insecurity on the training pitch, I would like to apologise for it.”
Bremen lie tenth in the league while Hoffenheim sit three places above and three points ahead of their rivals.
Earlier this week a drone was the subject of mass disruption at Gatwick Airport as over 1,000 flights were grounded with the chaos affecting around 14,000 passengers.
Unlike in Germany, the drone scandal hasn’t been resolved and the reason behind the disruption has not yet become apparent.
